How we work
SuperBlimp is a director-led animation studio. We take on projects where the studio can contribute creatively from the first conversation, and we also take on VFX and craft work where the job is to bring technical excellence and taste to someone else’s film.
The work falls into three areas:
Original films and shorts
Authored projects developed in-house by SuperBlimp, from concept through to final delivery. Some are self-initiated and fully owned by the studio, others are co-produced with partners who share the creative ambition. If you’re a producer, commissioning editor, or funding body looking for an animation studio with original IP and directorial voice, this is the work to look at.
Full production for brands
Commercial campaigns where SuperBlimp runs the production end-to-end, from concept and design through to final film. These are projects where the studio contributes meaningful creative direction alongside the craft: character design, worldbuilding, art direction, animation, CG environments, and finish. Previous full-production clients include DJI, Mizuno, SilverCross, Mercedes-Benz, Suntory, and Sky. Our best work in this space happens when clients want a creative partner at the table from the first brief.
Visual effects and craft for film and commercials
High-end VFX, compositing, and cinematic craft contributions on projects led by other directors, production companies, and post houses. This is where SuperBlimp brings its technical and creative taste to someone else’s vision, from invisible beauty work and seamless VFX to full CG integration. Recent collaborators include directors Jordan Hemingway and Ilan Lampl, post houses Purple Martin Studio and Beef Productions, and projects for Johnnie Walker, Zalando, FKA twigs / American Haiku, Lala &ce, Maison Margiela, and Diesel. We also supply VFX and craft work to agency-led commercial campaigns for brands including Burberry, Gucci, Versace, Triumph, and others.
How we work with clients
Every project is directed or overseen by Antonio Milo, with a trusted network of freelance artists and collaborators assembled around each job. This lets us scale to the needs of the project without carrying the overhead of a permanent team, and it means every SuperBlimp film is made by the right people for that specific brief.
We work best with:
